Sony Mobile aims to become the third largest Smartphone Manufacturer in the World.

by Michel7 October 2013

Sony Mobile currently holds 7% of the Market share, their Goal is to sell 20% of the worldwide sold Android Devices, to become the third largest Manufacturer of Smartphones.

After the purchase of the Ericsson shares Sony went for a rise with their latest Flagship Devices , the Xperia Z and the Xperia Z1 , which sold a lot better than their predecessors. The fact that the Hardware, Applications and Services are now developed within the company was a huge help to improve the Quality of the Sony Devices.

All those information were mentioned in an Interview with Sony’s head of sales and marketing, Dennis Van Schie. He also mentioned that the Displays from Sony’s Television department are optimized for fitting into the small cases of a smartphone, and that Sony Mobile will get early access to the latest developments in the Company’s Camera department.

The Goal set by Sony Mobile seems really high , but with what the big Sony Cooperation has to offer and the already Great Devices like the Xperia Z and the Xperia Z1 , there is a really high Chance that Sony could reach that goal and hit the top three.
