Vodafone Smart 4G for the UK leaks… in the US

by Nirave18 September 2013

Vodafone is reportedly set to launch its first own branded 4G phone – dubbed the Vodafone Smart 4G, it has leaked thanks to an application to the FCC for public consumption in the US.

Engadget spotted the Vodafone Smart 4G, which is a white-labelled version of the Coolpad 8860U and the application to the FCC is interesting due to Vodafone’s lack of presence there. Having sold their stake in Verizon Wireless, Vodafone has no route to market in the US, which suggests we could see it launch in the UK.

With the rest of the Smart range sporting entry level specs and the Android OS, this could be the cheapest 4G smartphone to hit the UK.
