Asus has shown their 6″ Atom powered competitor to the Galaxy Note at the Computex 2013, the Asus FonePad Note.

The Asus FonePad Note comes with a stunning 6″ 1080p IPS+ Display with 450 nits brightness and , as it is a Galaxy Note Competitor, with a digital Stylus for taking Notes or sketching something on the go. It is powered by a 1.6GHz dualcore Atom Z2560 processor, instead of an expected ARM Core. This x86 Chip comes paired with 2GB of RAM but without LTE. The networking will be done by DC-HSDPA which should provide us with up to 42 Mbit/s , depending on the Network Provider. This is enough to support Voice and Video Calls over the Internet Connection.

Speaking about Video , the Asus FonePad Note comes with a 8 Megapixel Camera on the back and 1,2 Megapixel in the front. Similar to the Galaxy Tab Series or the HTC One , Asus has put the Stereo Speakers on the Front of the Device, as seen in the Picture above.

This Segment is a tough Battlefield. We have the Samsung Note Series as a big hit , but the FonePad Note comes with an even bigger Screen than the Galaxy Note 2 and the rumored Note 3. LG also tried to compete in this Segment but not with the Results they expected. The success of the FonePad Note will be decided on Pricing and availability , as well as what Samsung has left in Stock for the Galaxy Note 3, which might be announced around Fall 2013, maybe in time for the IFA 2013.
