BlackBerry Z10: How to Set up Email Accounts

by Nirave11 March 2013

If you’re buying the new BlackBerry Z10, chances are you will want to set up an email account on BlackBerry’s latest flagship. The BlackBerry Z10 runs BlackBerry 10 and no longer requires you to have specific BlackBerry services in order to use features such as the browser, BBM or Email.

Here’s how to set up email on the BlackBerry Z10:

From the home screen, swipe to the left until you are in the BlackBerry Hub. Then in the bottom right corner, tap on the three dots icon and select Settings.

From the next screen select Add Account at the bottom of the screen.

Once the next screen loads, select Email, Calendar and Contacts.

Now type your email address in and press next. The BlackBerry Z10 will then connect to the internet and attempt to determine your email settings.

The BlackBerry Z10 will then ask you for your password. Enter your password and then press next. It will then attempt to find your email settings. If it finds your email settings then great, you’re all done. If it doesn’t, follow the steps below.

What to do if it doesn’t find your email settings?

First contact your email provider and ask what type of account you have (Exchange, IMAP, POP) and then ask for the following server details:

  • Incoming Mail Server:
  • Incoming Mail Server Username:
  • Incoming Mail Server Password:
  • Incoming Mail Server Port:
  • Outgoing Mail Server:
  • Outgoing Mail Server Username:
  • Outgoing Mail Server Password:
  • Outgoing Mail Server Port:

  • Mail Server Address:
  • Mailbox Username:
  • Mailbox Password:
  • Domain: (if none, leave blank)

Once you have these settings, follow the steps below.

Click on Advanced from the Add Account screen. Then select the type of account (i.e. Work Account, Exchange ActiveSync, IMAP, POP).

The BlackBerry Z10 will then ask you for the information you obtained from your email provider. Enter all the information it requests and then press Next. It should say that the account has been successfully added but if it doesn’t, contact your email provider for further assistance.

We hope this has helped you set up email on the BlackBerry Z10. Why not check our more of our Tips & Tricks and How To guides in our Technology Made Simple section?
