HTC Flyer 2 – thinner, faster Android Jelly Bean tablet?
HTC could be set to return to the tablet game with rumours circulating that the company is planning to launch a successor to the HTC Flyer tablet.
The HTC Flyer 2 is set to be almost 50 percent thinner than its predecessor (7.1 mm versus 13.2 mm) whilst under the hood, it is expected to be equipped with a 1.5 GHz processor. The front display is expected to get a bump in resolution to 1280 x 768 pixels whilst the Flyer 2 would run the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.
The HTC Flyer is the only 7 inch tablet released by the Taiwanese manufacturer but the Flyer did not sell well, with under-powered hardware and out-of-date OS causing its demise. It’s unknown when HTC are planning to unveil their new tablet but with a press conference scheduled for September 19th, we could see the Flyer 2 announced in a couple of weeks.
