Samsung; no plans to buy Nokia

by Nirave11 June 2012

Remember the rumour that Samsung was set to buy out Nokia? Well the Korean manufacturer has now come out and said it has no plans to purchase the Finnish company. Samsung has stated the rumours are “purely speculative and are not true”, which is sure to affect Nokia’s share price which jumped on the initial buyout rumours.

Samsung recently surpassed Nokia to become the largest phone manufacturer in the world (having surpassed Apple as the largest smartphone manufacturer) and their new Galaxy SIII flagship smartphone has hit the ground running, with over 9 million pre-orders before its official launch.

It’s great to see that Nokia aren’t going to be subject to a buyout from Samsung, as the company’s Windows Phone strategy looks set to take off with the Nokia Lumia 900 and rumoured Nokia PureView Windows Phone smartphone.
