Foxconn investing in new Apple production line
Foxconn, Apple’s manufacturing partner in its iPhone, iPad and Macs ranges, has plans to build a new Apple production line in China’s east Jiangsu province.
The report from China Daily says that the new product line will require a $210 million investment from October and once functional, could output between $949 million and $1.1 billion per year.
The 40,000 square meter facility will accommodate up to 35,800 workers but the report did not say which Apple devices would be manufactured there. The company also renamed the road where its Brazilian factory is located in honour of the passing of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs late last year.
