BlackBerry Introduces Parental Controls for Smartphones

by TechView Team22 May 2012

BlackBerry notes that the smartphone experience offered to business through Enterprise Servers and administrators can be used for those outside of the Enterprise market, namely mum and dad.

The business parallels are clear, ‘IT is now mom, and the Enterprise is now little Jimmy’. By offering the IT user extra facilities they are able to manage the features and services that may be available to your child.

With this in mind, Parental Controls was developed and is part of the BlackBerry 7.1 OS. BlackBerry 7.1 is already enabled in the new BlackBerry Curve smartphones 9320 and 9220. Furthermore, existing users of BlackBerry 7.0 and BlackBerry 6 will receive a downloadable Parental Controls in the next month.
