Samsung files lawsuit against Apple in South Korea

by Nirave7 March 2012

So here we go again, the merry-go round of petty patent wars continues, this time with Samsung accusing Apple of infringing its patents.

Samsung has filed the latest lawsuit in South Korea and claims that the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 infringe three of Samsung’s patents, and follows previous legal clashes in Australia, the Netherlands and Germany.

Samsung say the lawsuit centres around three patents which cover methods of displaying data, the user interface and short text messages. I’ve got to say that if you compare TouchWiz and iOS, to my mind at least, TouchWiz is getting closer and closer to iOS every day but I’m sure that the patents are non-specific as such.

Apple is also involved in legal battles with other Android and non-Android manufacturers and primarily has taken action against Samsung, Motorola Mobility and HTC, all whom use Google’s free Android platform.
