Nokia N9 Specs Leak
Following our recent pictures that leaked of the Nokia N9, we can now bring some more specs! NokNok got a tip from one of their readers and the specs that seem to be forthcoming are:
- 4 inch OLED Screen (800 x 480 pixels)
- 512MB RAM
- 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor
- 1 GB system storage (app memory)
- 64GB internal memory
- 720p HD Video Recording
- 8MP camera (supplied by us, not NokNok)
- 802.11 b/g/n HSPA+
- A-GPS
- Bluetooth 2.1
If these specs turn out true, and the first MeeGo based handset from Nokia is announced at Nokia World 2010, then it looks like Nokia has finally realised and woken up to the fact that consumers’ are swayed by figures like 8MP, 1GHz, Wireless ‘n’ and 720p HD Video.
However, these specs, whilst unheard of in Nokia handset terms, are already widely available from Android devices and aside from the 64GB internal memory, none of the specs are introducing anything new; if it turns out to be true, the Nokia N9 will be the first mobile handset to have 64GB on-board memory. The Apple iPhone 4, during the leaks stage and prior to official announcement, was rumoured at one point to have 64GB memory and this turned out to be false; will the N9 be the first to bring this?
All of this means one thing though; a lack of real innovation means the OS needs to make up for that and this is one thing that has to happen. With Nokia announcing that Symbian will now only power mid and low end devices in its portfolio, for them to regain market share in the smartphone sector, MeeGo OS needs to perform and hopefully, two giants in Nokia & Intel working on a mobile OS (MeeGo), can only lead to good results.

@sayantan… 12 mp? ARM? Where did you get these specs? All “rumours” indicate 8 mp and Quallcomm Snapdragon CPU, anyways I will get my hands on it next week so I will know for sure.

Hi, – uncovered your current blog by accident while looking round the internet this afternoon, and glad that I did! I do like the design and style and colorings, but I have to mention that I’m having difficulty when it loads. I’m using iCab 4 browser for mac, and the menu does not align nicely. i am sure I have employed exactly the same design on a customer’s online site, but the menu seems Ok on mine. I think the problem is with my browser and I reckon that it is time to upgrade! That apart i love this article as well as the site overall. I wish you all the very best in your future endeavours. Nokia n9 is considered as a very strong member of Nokia family, though, it has not taken its place in the market. As everyone knows that this is the first Meego smartphones official in the first quarter of this year.
